What are You Thankful For?
At appropriate times, my husband and I love to introduce portions of our culture’s celebrations to our expat congregation. Thanksgiving festivities are some of our favorites that we try not to miss!
This past Sunday we had a Thanksgiving Service followed by a delicious meal with all the trimmings and more! But as John brought the service part to a close, he encouraged us to think “What are you thankful for?”
It’s Not Just One Day on the Calendar
Thanksgiving is not just to be a day on the calendar that is filled with football, turkey, family and pie. But instead its very essence is rooted in the scriptures where God calls us to be a thankful people. Sometimes we, (meaning “I”) just tend to forget to say “thank you.”
So if we were sitting together over a short cup of coffee, the following pictorial selection would be my reply to you of things that I am thankful for. To be honest, we probably would have to have multiple coffees, for the older I get the more I am aware of all that God has blessed me with. I might just talk your ear off, I fear. 😉
What are you thankful for this year?
